Kate Luckins (formerly Kate Pears); Founder and Director
While Kate kick-started the clothing exchange events back in 2004 as her Fashion Masters research project at RMIT University. Furthering her study, she is undertaking her research into how young people are choosing to reinvent their lives and live more sustainably. Kate enjoys sharing her research and critique of consumerism through public presentations, writing and project collaborations. Kate is the director of The Clothing Exchange and enjoys developing The Clothing Exchange events alongside fellow sustainable fashionista Juliette.

Juliette has brought a wealth of fashion industry experience. her savvy marketing mind and boundless enthusiasm for sustainable fashion to The Clothing Exchange team. She draws upon her knowledge and networks to promote The Clothing Exchange events and she invests her heart and soul the development and execution of new exchange events. In recent times, Juliette has jumped to the helm of the national host operation and she continues to support our national networking of swapping.

Felicity has been a loyal supporter of the exchange events from the very beginning (2004) and she has since become the star event co-ordinator. At the events, you’ll see Felicity and her spiked orange/blue/pink/blonde tresses at the door and if you’re a volunteer, she’ll be the one giving you a call … or a cocktail!

Judy is kept busy managing event bookings, enquiries and co-ordinating guest lists. She is the administrative glue that holds The Clothing Exchange together an it’s her lovely email manner and monthly mail outs you’ll all enjoy.

Amy has joined our team to help us balance our books and befriend the tax man! She is happily alternating between tending to her li’l one at home and typing away on her computer.

Kirsten & Paula
We’re very proud of our Sydney team, headed by the likes of Kirsten and Paula. They hit the swaps running when they started swapping midway through 2008, and their events have gained momentum since. As the photos in our gallery show, their swaps feature in a delightful warehouse space in Surrey Hills. Kirsten draws upon her fine dining contacts to find the finest organic wines and sweetest cupcakes to share with their guests. This pair make wonderful event co-ordinators as they have a wealth of experience playing host to local designer sales. Along with their enthusiastic team of assistants, they have brought a unique and exciting extensions to The Clothing Exchange.

Chantal & Krystal
Sisters, Chantal & Krystal equally share the craze of shopping and the love of fashion, but once they accumulated 10 pairs of jeans and only one pair had ever been worn, they fell head over heels with the idea of swapping. With the wasteful nature of the industry they love in mind, Krystal & Chantal are excited to get Adelaide fashionistas onboard doing their part for the environment while replenishing their guests wardrobes! Chantal, has qualifications in event management under her belt and experience in the events industry and Krystal is an accountant and business advisor. With these credentials and a huge dose of enthusiasm to match...these girls are going to bring a while new dimension to the swaps!

Vanessah & Mia
We’re pleased as punch to welcome our newest hosts from Perth to The Clothing Exchange Team! In their quest for a greener lifestyle, friends Vanessah and Mia thought the idea of swapping was a giant step towards their goal and was also a way to encourage others to be more aware of the impact of the fashion industry on our environment and give them the opportunity to become involved in doing their ‘bit’. Based on this, they knew they should bring The Clothing Exchange to Perth. Both girls love clothes and are guilty of that ‘impulse’ buy (several actually!) and have a wardrobe full of clothes, but nothing to wear! They are excited to be introducing The Clothing Exchange to the ladies of Perth and encouraging them to recycle their wardrobes in the chicest possible way.
