Following up the competition to win free tickets to the Fair@Square fashions show… we are super excited to announce Kathryn as the lucky winner! Leeyong Soo will be in touch with all those details… enjoy!

We are also delighted to promote the opportunity to participate in some serious debate broaching the subject of fashion and consumerism. Moral Fairground are hosting an array of events during their December Fair@Square festival at Federation Square, Melbourne. Once again, our founder Kate Luckins has been invited to participate in a panelist discussion along with some great company. The event details are below…

Consumption and Fashion

This panel discussion will focus on some of the reasons behind unethical, resource intensive and mindless modes of consumption.  It will go behind a mere discussion of the ramifications of overconsumption of cheap goods in western cultures and talk about where the drive to thoughtlessly over consume comes from.

Date: Sunday 4 December 2011
Time: 12.30 – 1.30pm
Location: Fair Talk Tent, River Terrace, Federation Square.

Panelists Include:

·         Jill Chivers, Shop Your Wardrobe

·         Jo Cramer,  Fashion Lecturer, School of Architecture and Design, RMIT University

·         Kate Luckins, The Clothing Exchange

·         MC – Georgia Mccorkil, The Red Carpet Project
